Dear Investor,

This month, a request to complete the Fraser Institute Mining Survey was delivered to my Inbox. The survey “assesses the impact of mineral endowments and policy factors on attitudes toward exploration investment”, it essentially ranks jurisdictions in terms of attractiveness for investment. As always, the consumer will adjudicate on relevance, but as an exercise it is interesting, as it forces the participant to be objective and to pontificate only upon jurisdictions where they have relevant and valid experience.

Royal Road has tested a few jurisdictions over the years and although this is hard to say without deliberately "going fuzzy" on the detail, we commonly find that when it comes to advancing investments, company and community are at one in their frustrations with the regulator. The reasons for that are varied and granular, but in the very few and rare occasions where regulator, community and company seem to be aligned, I think we see a pattern emerging. Strong sanctioned leadership, a tough and effective posture on corruption, a clear and considered long-term and real-world plan, a fractal approach to education and a tactile attitude to industry and rural-community engagement seem to be key ingredients of an exploration-friendly jurisdiction.

At the end of the survey, I was left wondering about some earlier adventures, genuinely surprised by how I ranked others, and mostly happy with where we currently work!

Exploration Update

Saudi Arabia

Royal Road Arabia has successfully obtained the permits required to conduct our drone-borne surveys at Jabal Sahabiyah and will commence from mid-September. Ongoing fieldwork has identified two new gossans highlighting additional intrusion-related mineralization targets. New gold potential has been identified with results from surface sampling expected shortly. At Jabal Muwayqirah auger sampling beneath wadi (dry-river) sediments is defining the concealed extent of the polymetallic gossan. We intend to commence drill-testing Jabal Muwayqirah after environmental permits have been received.

At Al-Miyah, a technical field review has been completed including initial structural mapping and prospecting. New gold occurrences and priority follow-up areas have been identified.

As part of our strong commitment to developing the next generation of national geological talent, our Summer Internship Program was completed which included four students from King Abdulaziz University and four students from Taibah University.

Next in Saudi Arabia

  • Complete drone-borne surveys and plan drilling at Jabal Sahabiyah
  • Follow-up new gossan and gold vein occurrences at Jabal Sahabiyah
  • Map and sample priority targets at Al-Miyah

Morocco

In Morocco we are informed that drill-permitting at Alouana has advanced in accordance with the process from community back to regional level.

Field work was focused on assessing three acquisition opportunities in the High-Atlas area.
